White House’s Official Christmas Tree Decorated with Military Medals Minted by Northwest Territorial Mint’s Graco Awards
The White House honors America’s military men and women by featuring decorations composed of military awards on the official Christmas tree in the famed Blue Room. Hanging from the 18-1/2 foot fir are actual Purple Hearts, Bronze Stars, Air Force Crosses, Legion of Merit, and Silver Stars, the same minted products as produced by Northwest Territorial Mint’s Graco division for the Defense Logistics Agency to award to America’s military men and women.
Northwest Territorial Mint is pleased that its work will be on view in the nation’s home.

Dakota Meyer Awarded Medal of Honor
We applaud the heroic deeds of Dakota Meyer and congratulate him on being awarded the Medal of Honor. We at Northwest Territorial Mint/Graco Awards consider it an honor to have minted this most prestigious medal for such a worthy recipient.
Graco Awards began over 25 years ago as a result of the State National Guard not having an adequate source for their medals and service ribbons. Meeting this apparent, but difficult to fill, need, Graco has grown its manufacturing capabilities to include working with almost every Government Agency. Some Graco medals are specific Agency secrets and will never be seen in public. There is a high degree of trust and responsibility placed on our staff and employees for these time-sensitive awards.
Department of Defense medals are governed by the Institute of Heraldry, which is an Army Agency located at Ft Belvoir, Virginia. Graco has been authorized by IOH to manufacture DOD medals under an assigned Hallmark since 1988. Only through rigorous testing and adherence to strict regulations can a company achieve and receive this authorized Hallmark. Each DOD medal, including any new medal has to be inspected and approved by IOH prior to manufacturing the medal for wholesale or retail sales. This is important since the Department of Defense and Congress authorized the sale of DOD medals to the public with the exception of protected medals like the Medal of Honor, Medal of Freedom, and the 9/11 medals for Heroism and Valor. Additionally, for DOD medals, the Defense Supply Center also has its own approval process for Government contracts. This process is the First Article Submittal System which is also exacting. Graco manufactures every type of Department of Defense medal; starting with the Medal of Honor, including the Silver Star, the Purple Heart all the way down the list to the newest campaign medals, service ribbons, lapel pins, and badges. Since these items fall under the "Made in America Act", Graco has full capability of manufacturing every medal at its facility in Tomball, Texas where the company makes over one million parts per month. We are proud to serve the folks that are fighting to protect our freedom in this way.
For many years we have been designing and manufacturing Police Department medals, Fire Department medals, and Fire Marshal medals which is a good beginning to our PSS or Public Safety Sector awards line. Graco has dedicated over 300 ribbon designs that it has in stock and over 30 medal designs for the Police and Fire Departments awards consideration. No other company had the capability to manufacture these medals "in House" and also have this type of ribbon selection "in Stock". Graco Awards has a proven history of serving the men and women risking their lives daily to preserve our safety. Now these Departments can customize a cost effective awards program with military quality medals. If made in America is important, then, Graco Awards is the company to contact. »

UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES AWARDS, DECORATIONS, CAMPAIGN & SERVICE MEDALS
Requests for the issuance or replacement of military service medals, decorations, and awards should be directed to the specific branch of the military in which the veteran served. However, for Air Force (including Army Air Corps) and Army personnel, the National Personnel Records Center will verify the awards to which a veteran is entitled and forward the request with the verification to the appropriate service department for issuance of the medals.
